On 15–16 April 2026, a conference was held to mark the conclusion of the three-year project ‘Digital-Up! Developing digital skills to build capacity in trade unions in Central and Eastern Europe’.
The conference was attended by 82 participants from 28 trade unions in the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine and Hungary, representing the IT and telecommunications, care, retail and banking sectors, as well as the printing sector.
The conference summarised the project, which involved 36 workshops on topics including the use of digital tools to mobilise members and build strong trade unions, new forms of work optimisation and employee monitoring using artificial intelligence, as well as labour law and collective agreements. The workshops were attended by 750 trade unionists, who will now develop their organisations to make skilful use of the opportunities created by the project, such as an electronic database of collective agreements, methods for increasing trade union membership through online surveys and petitions, modern and user-friendly websites, and joining a trade union via e -declarations.
The Digital-up project is funded by the European Commission and was coordinated by COZZ and Uni Europa on behalf of their member trade unions from the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine and Hungary.
